ROOM FOR PRAYER

Lord’s Prayer with poem
Matthew 6:9-13 (NIV)
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
Only by looking up
Do I clearly see
Right place in Glory
Your Name speaks eternity
10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Oh that this Truth
Would now justly be
So all created on earth
Would rest in the Finished
11 Give us today our daily bread.
We are your created
Complete but in need
Of Your continual filling
With more of You, more unseen
12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors
I alone am not enough
And consider others my due
Wash away my not
As I do the same, like You
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Danger’s yet awhile
The lurker is always just near
Rescue me from it all
And rise beyond the darkest fear
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever…and ever. Amen
The all is in Your hand
Radiant Light shining on
Forever has already begun
Thank You Lord, for making us one.

WHAT IS YOUR NAME

download (1)

Vapors of sorrow
Whispers of delight
From just which direction
Comes unapproachable light?

Are you sweet?
Or are you sour?
Can’t you just be something
For one whole hour?

Must you muddy the clear
And taint the spring?
Just what drives this folly
Can’t you name that thing?

Doubt the gentle?
Ridicule the kind?
Piss on the fire
And then trip up the blind?

What is your name?
The root of your desire?
Destined for darkness
And unquenchable fire.

Resist and flee!
Begone, and swept away!
I am a new creature
An ever fresh day-spring I say!

So up and away!
The cross has done
The work completed
A new song being sung

Jesus the Name!
Jesus the Way!
Given quivering lips
So I too can say…

Jesus is Lord!
No place now for sorrow
Brand new today
Even more tomorrow

THE HOLY’S TALKING

18221801_1032159290254732_5586268167584424389_n

Who even notices
I’ve been walking
I just wonder sometimes
Do you hear me even talking?

I’m trying the good
Resisting the bad
Who evens notices
My efforts seem sad

But your Word prevails
Your Truth speaks still
If I’m quiet and listen
There’s hope continually until

The last trump will sound
The final call to glory
Who will even notice
The end of this one story

“It is finished”
It’s what you said
Who even noticed
That you’re no longer dead?

Thanks for listening
I’ll just keep walking
Because of your love beyond wonder
I can now hear the Holy talking.

JESUS TOLD US TO FORGIVE

17973632_1019768071493854_7510149847725010927_o

“Bitterness is what grows from a seed of injustice, planted and watered in the garden of what-might-have been.  When nurtured, it brings forth fruit.  This fruit, fully mature, tastes sweet at first bite, but it turns the inner being sour with a harsh and biting deep despair.”  “Bitterness is nothing more than old unforgiveness.”

OK. that is clear enough.  I have not met one person that hasn’t got this going in their ‘garden’.  Some more.  Some less.

Some with an injustice that is beyond imagination.

I have been shown some of your… well, let’s just say for sure that He clearly sees it all.  Even the distortion that He is the source of the injustice.

These are really hard, tight knots of despair and incredible sadness. The wounding is so deep and profound.  But just for a moment, just consider, not to diminish the realities, the feelings, the circumstances, just for now… consider the will.

Plain, raw, will.

We all, God, angels, (good and bad), people, (good and bad), have will, and the power to act on that will.  They go together you see.

I’m just talking a little here, finally, about choice.

The accumulation of our choices, the impacts of the choices others have made…are making even right now, are ever so powerful. Particularly it seems towards the ‘bad’.  They can look overwhelming.

We might call them circumstances.

But we each still have within  us a power that is…beyond imagination.  The will.  You and I can make choices.  They still accumulate.  They are more powerful than any unimaginable circumstances.

Yeah, you know where this is going.

Forgive.

Make even the littlest ‘forgive’ you can ‘will up’ to do.

The gates of hell can not endure that choice.  Go for it.  Do it.  Just do it.  Feelings are to trail along behind this creative act.  That you and I can do this, if we will… is amazing.   The garden could use some weeding.

( The quote at the beginning is from David Chotka from his book POWER PRAYING)  (And by the way, I am, by His power, more and more in His will…praying for you…) (Remember, you are not alone).
